The Kids clay classes will continue through May 2026
- Tuesday 4.00pm – 5.15pm 5-13 year olds. Starts 5th May (4 weeks)
- Wednesday 4.00pm – 5.15pm 5-13 year olds. Starts 6th May (4 weeks)
- Saturday 10am-11am and 11.30-12.30 5-13 year olds. Starts 9th May (4 weeks)
Course block length 4 weeks for Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday class.
Course Costs :
£44 for Tuesday & Wednesday classes
£40 for Saturday morning classes * to be paid in full at the time of booking or at the first lesson.
Families enrolling 2 or more children will receive a 10% discount for each child after the first.
Maximum class size is 16.
About the childrens clay class
This is a series of classes for children giving them an introduction to sculpting with clay. Classes are taught by Olha Kivlin. Childrens clay class is suitable for kids from primary 1 through to early secondary school. Over the course of this session the children will learn a variety of techniques including.
- pinch pots
- sculpting
- coil building
- slab building
- painting
- glazing
As the children grow in experience they will be asked to look for inspiration and ideas from the things they enjoy at home. Whether it be super heroes, animated movies, pets, toys, school projects or pure imagination. Children are welcome to bring in comics, magazines or toys as reference to work from. Any work completed in the class is fired, then finished in either acrylics or glaze.

About the tutor
Olha Kivlin was lecturing in graphics in Ukraine until 2022. She now lives in Scotland with her family. She has taught a range of age groups in the past and has taken our kids classes for the last 3 years.
