Birthday parties at the Workshop are increasingly popular and offer something a little bit different to celebrate that special day. These can hold from 5-16 people in either clay sculpting or paint it, make it parties. However it does not just have to be a birthday, we have in the past had family groups from Gran to the Grandchildren, friends get togethers and Hen Parties. Parties are normally run by either Julian Jardine or Olha Kilvin
Clay Parties
This gives individuals a chance to make their own piece from start to finish. We encourage the birthday host to pick what is going to be made and after a quick demo we then take everyone through each stage of the making step by step. In the past we have made a wide variety of things including elephants, dogs, cats, lions, hares, dragons, koala bears to name but a few! Finished pieces are left at the workshop to dry for a few weeks before being fired in the kiln and can then be taken home to be painted. Parties last for 1 hour and are suitable for those aged between 5 and completely ancient!. The cost is £10 per child .
Adult parties, get togethers and Hen parties tend to come for 2 hour sessions which cost £16 per person.
Paint it, make it parties
This option allows individuals to draw out and then paint their ideas onto individual canvas in acrylics. We then make up a clay sculpture usually based on whatever has been painted. The paintings can be taken home at the end of the session while clay sculptures take a few weeks to dry and fire before they can be collected. These parties last for 2 hours. Cost are £20 per child.
